Why Becoming

Every woman deserves
access to excellence.

Women from Israel’s social periphery often face barriers alone on the way to knowledge, tools, connections and opportunities. It is time to change that and create genuine equality of opportunity.

Graduates of residential care and foster families, former lone soldiers, young immigrants, orphans and women raised without stable support arrive with ability and a drive for excellence, but not always with the same access to connections, guidance and resources that can open doors.

We give every participant tools, knowledge, mentoring, community and support so she can realise her full potential. More strong, exceptional women build a stronger Israeli society.

The story behind the fund

From lone soldier and IDF officer to high-tech founder. Inesa Bass built the path she is now opening for other women.

Inesa Bass moved from Russia to Israel at age four. When her late mother returned to Moscow, Inesa chose to remain in Israel and grow up in a residential school. She later completed five years of service as a lone soldier and IDF officer, built seven years of high-tech product marketing experience and founded hileo.io, which appeared on Sharks and secured investment.

Together with friends, she volunteered to create “Simply Work”, helping thousands of people find employment during the COVID employment crisis. President Reuven “Ruvi” Rivlin recognised the initiative at the President’s Residence. Becoming grew from her drive to make excellence, opportunity and practical tools accessible to women from Israel’s social periphery, the place she came from too.
